Back when I was a brand new teacher, a while other lifetime ago, I bought four 20" pillow forms to cover and put in the library corner of my classroom. As my first year of teaching went by I sewed four new covers for each month. Most of them are themed for holidays, all are in cheery fabrics that my students really enjoyed.
Now that I teach two very bright and darling children of my own, we have these pillows in the living room. And I have added ocean themed covers for June and Independence Day covers for July. The first of the month it is always fun to change the covers. Then Valerie and Andrew will pile them up and take turns jumping on them.
One of the many ways in which these fun pillows are used.

That is such a cute idea! When I was younger I always remember asking my Mom what Month it was, and I did not mean what month I meant more about what was happening that month (like 4th of July, Fall, Spring, snow-skiing time, etc :)!)
ReplyDeleteWe also loved playing with pillows, they were the best!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea, makes me want to head to the fabric store and pick out the cutest, cheesey-est holiday themed patterns! :)
