I finished reading this last book of the Carbonel series by Barbara Sleigh to Valerie. She is very into cats right now. What is even better is that she is in fourth grade, reading at the 9th grade level, and still wants me to read books aloud to her!
I have mentioned in previous posts that this is a fun series of chapter books published from 1955-1978. Not overly violent (besides a few cat fights), or otherwise questionable. Just good storytelling.
Hmm...what to read to Valerie next? Suggestions?!
9th grade level? Flowers in the Attic!! No no no.......that's purely for Momma's enjoyment! Maguire's grow good readers!!!
