Oh, the injustice of catching a cold in summer- time! Our little Andrew came down with a runny nose and fever on Monday night. So, as you can imagine, I'm feeling more sleep deprived than normal, because of the sleeping arrangements (but that is another story). In addition, Tom caught the cold the next day, then me. So, no rest and sick. And needing to get the house clean and in order for my parents' 4th of July visit.
And poor Andrew, who is feeling quite better now, except for the constant drip of snot onto his upper lip. Hence, the piles of nose wipies placed strategically throughout the house. He has been putting a finger in his nostril and saying, "no" (meaning "nose", since it is not quite as emphatic as when he says "No!"), just to illustrate the point. Luckily, Valerie seems to have fared pretty well, with just some morning coughing.
So, that's where we are today. But all the work around the house should pay off with some rest for Tom and I when the grandparents arrive and the kids' attention is totally diverted to them. We might even get to go on a date or two! Now we just have to hope we don't end up sending the grandparents home with the cold.
Blog Note: Coming in two days...Saturday Sundries.

ReplyDeleteLove your pictures!
Sad to say I totally relate to this post. Somehow my husband managed to escape the virus. And Vinny had two different ones within 9 days of each other. I call it the Summer of Bummer.
