December's Travels by Mischa Damjan is perfect for this Winter Solstice day. I found this book at a used book store my first year of teaching. I was drawn to the intriguing illustrations by Dusan Kallay. The story is just right for this time of year. December, feeling sad and restless as his month is about to end, is invited by the North Wind to visit three other months--March, June, and October--in their time.
This is simply a very, very beautiful book.
