The September Issue, to me, is a fascinating documentary. Having been a longtime devotee of Vogue magazine (in a previous life, before the kids came along, anyway) and an eager awaiter each year of the telephone book-sized September issue, this movie was just the perfect sneak peek into how it all comes together.If you have seen (or, even better, read) The Devil Wears Prada, you really need to watch The September Issue as a counterpoint. I think what I enjoyed most was the prominent place Grace Coddington had in the film. I have always admired her work in Vogue--she is brilliant.
Maybe it is time to renew my subscription.
