Don't be alarmed. This movie is neither hideous nor kinky. ("Hideous kinky" is a silly phrase from the movie.) It features the wonderful Kate Winslet, my favorite actress. You might remember her from her breakout role in a little film called Titanic.Hideous Kinky follows a young mother on her path of self-discovery in Morocco. The story is enticing, the film is a visual feast.
I would recommend every single one of Winslet's films I have seen, sixteen in all!
And as I browse her filmography on IMDb, I see there are a number I need to put in the Netflix queue. It's not a coincidence that all the ones I haven't seen yet came out 2004 or later. I guess that's when I, ahem, stopped having much free time for watching movies.
I didn't know KW was in 16 movies. Wow. And yes, lots of things stop once the kids arrive on the scene. But, there will come a day when you'll get out and about much more. Your kiddos are still young. I'm seeing that light at the end of the tunnel now.
