The Kitties

I'd like to introduce to you, Isabel and Caspian.

These sweet kitties have been with us for just two weeks now. Valerie is completely smitten and loves them with all her heart. Andrew loves them, too, in his own three-year-old way.

Hubby and I have always wanted to get cats, but for years we had never lived in a place where they were allowed, plus we moved around a lot because of school. Then we had kids.

Now, it's a tiny bit like having new kids. I figure our kitties are about five years old in cat years (eight months old). They are kindergartners, basically. They are sister and brother indoor cats and came litter box trained, lovingly raised from three days old by a sweet young woman. When we brought them home, they were hesitant at first, but now they walk around like they own the joint. Cats.

We love them. Sometimes I wonder, "What was I thinking?" while I am scooping out the litter box every other day, or hearing them meow for their food early in the morning, or walking into a room and finding a whole mess of stuff I had haphazardly piled up somewhere (out of Andrew's reach, not too long ago) now scattered across the floor. But I do love them, and their cute soft warm little purring bodies.

Cats.

  1. Cats sure are fun - I've grown up always having a cat - they certainly will entertain you ( and keep you warm ;-p )

  3. Precious kitties! I love the name, Caspian. One of my favorite books was C.S. Lewis' Prince Caspian, and that was what I immediately thought of. Thank you for sharing your new additions with us!

  4. I think it is great that you got cats not kittens. I got my cat when he was an adult, also raised by an older fellow who wasn't able to care for him anymore. It is funny how quickly they adjust!
